Luxembourg Venture Days 2024

LBAN at Venture Days: Empowering the Startup and Investor Ecosystem in Luxembourg

For the second consecutive year, LBAN (Luxembourg Business Angel Network) collaborated with key ecosystem partners, including LPEA (Luxembourg Private Equity & Venture Capital Association) and Startup Luxembourg, to co-organize Luxembourg’s flagship event, Venture Days. This year’s edition brought together startups, investors, and business angels for meaningful discussions, networking, and collaboration opportunities.

Term Sheet Battle – A Peek Behind Closed Door Negotiations

One of LBAN’s highlight contributions to Venture Days was the Term Sheet Battle panel, where experts Christophe Bianco, Matias Mäenpää, and Kevin Muller provided insights into critical investment terms that are usually discussed privately between founders and investors. Topics such as valuation, liquidation preference, and board composition were debated, offering the audience a valuable look into the negotiation process.

How Business Angels Add Value to Founders

LBAN also hosted a side event that shed light on the added value business angels bring to startups. The session featured LBAN’s investment thesis and included apitching session where four innovative startups—Moniflo, Maana Electric, EmailTree, and Cyberr—had the opportunity to present their ideas to business angels. This event provided a glimpse into LBAN’s typically members-only pitch sessions.

European Business Angel Get Together at LBAN Coffee Booth

During the Insights Conference, LBAN organized a non-formal gathering at the LBAN Coffee Booth, which served as a networking for private investors from across Europe. The European Business Angel Get Together was an excellent opportunity for business angels to exchange experiences, discuss investment opportunities, and foster cross-border collaboration in an informal setting.

Closing Ceremony and Reflections on Venture Days

The event concluded with a closing ceremony featuring LBAN’s President, Michel Rzonzef, who delivered the opening remarks alongside Stéphane Pesch, CEO of LPEA. The ceremony included speeches by Minister Lex Delles, Marjut Falkstedt of EIF, Sasha Baillie of Luxinnovation, and a keynote on AI megatrends by Dusan Stojanovic. To wrap up, the latest cohort of startups selected for Fit4Start were announced.

Venture Days was once again a testament to Luxembourg’s dynamic startup and investment ecosystem.
